Mental Health and Youth Development: Priorities for the Summer and Beyond
This summer, more than ever, it will be important to pay attention to the social-emotional health of young people. Join NSLA for a discussion featuring Dr. Gil Noam, Director of The PEAR Institute and faculty member at Harvard University. The PEAR Institute is a national leader on the continuum from social-emotional development (SED) to resiliency to mental health. Dr. Noam will discuss what students have gone through these past months and how to address the deprivations and opportunities associated with social isolation.
Dr. Noam also will share an example of an assessment tool that focuses on student voice to understand youth’s social-emotional strengths and challenges and can track student experience during the summer and into the fall. Guests will have an opportunity to learn how to join a cohort of summer programs that will go into depth with some of the ideas presented in this webinar.
