Using Social and Emotional Learning and Trauma-Informed Care Practices to Improve Behavior Outcomes: A Professional Learning Community for Program Management
This Professional Learning Community is designed to offer a small group (6-8) of Montana out-of-school time program managers (director, admin, site coordinators, etc) the opportunity to explore the connections between social emotional learning, trauma-informed care practices and behavior management. This will be an in-depth study and conversation that requires a commitment from you to fully participate in all 5 online meetings, as well as pre-assignments (readings, videos, podcasts, writings), and practical applications in your programs. The aim of this PLC is to help program leaders examine the structure and culture of their programs, learn more about SEL and TIC and how their use can improve behavior outcomes, and how you can apply what you've learned to your everyday work with your staff and the youth you serve. Register to be a part of this learning community here!
Our online sessions will run from 10am-12pm on the following Wednesdays: October 21, October 28, November 4, November 11, and November 18. Cost is $75 per person, but scholarships are available. Please contact MTAA Program Support Coordinator & PLC facilitator Bethany Steinken with any questions: bsteinken@mtafterschoolalliance.org or 406-366-3395.
