Latinx Leader Roundtable
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, America’s Promise Alliance and Communities In Schools are co-hosting this virtual roundtable with Latinx youth and adult leaders at different levels of the youth development field, from community-based organizations to national nonprofits.
The discussion will explore the top-of-mind issues for Latinx youth and communities such as the disparate effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on this population, injustice against immigrants, and efforts to combat racism in the U.S. This conversation is particularly timely in an election year, as voters of all backgrounds and ethnicities consider these issues and more.
Confirmed speakers include:
Sindy Benavides, President and CEO, LULAC
Isaac Espinal, Youth Board Member, America’s Promise Alliance
Nadia Hernandez, Young Professional Leader, Communities In Schools
Altagracia Montilla, Chief Equity Officer, Center for Supportive Schools
Elmer Roldan, Executive Director, Communities In Schools of Los Angeles
Rey Saldaña, President and CEO, Communities In Schools
Elizabeth Santiago, Chief Program Officer, MENTOR National
Dennis Vega, Interim President and CEO, America’s Promise Alliance
In addition to digging into key issues facing Latinx young people, the speakers will discuss priorities for continuing to support Latinx leadership across national and community-based nonprofit organizations.
