Leap Into Science: Light & Shadow (Virtual)

Leap into Science is a national program designed to build interest and skills in science and literacy for children ages 3 – 10 and their families in community settings like libraries, museums, and out-of-school time programs. Learning is achieved by integrating open-ended science activities with children’s books to highlight critical thinking skills that are important in both science and literacy. You will also provide opportunities for youth to think like a scientist by making observations and predictions, testing ideas, and learning from something that may not have worked as planned. You will learn how to lead Light and Shadow activities for Elementary and/or Family Engagement Workshops (with tips for pre-k). We ask that you bring TWO staff members to this training. The cost $25 for two. Registration for Leap Into Science also enters you for a chance to win an Amazon gift card for supplies you will need to offer these Light & Shadow workshops. Register here! This event will be held virtually and links will be sent out after registration.

Scholarships and renewal units available.  Contact MTAA Program Support Coordinator Bethany Steinken at bethany@mtafterschoolalliance.org with any questions.
